Who owns River Rock Casino Resort

River Rock Casino Resort is owned by a partnership of two companies. The partners are Petroglyph Development Group, of Snuneymuxw First Nation, and Musqueam Capital Corp, of the Musqueam Indian Band. They bought the casino from Great Canadian Entertainment and have owned it since June 16, 2026.

Petroglyph acts as the arm of Snuneymuxw First Nation for economic development. The Nation holds all of its shares. Petroglyph's own wording is that all profits, in its phrase, "go back to the Nation". No split of ownership between the two partners is on record, so this guide gives none.

Owning and running are separate in this province. BCLC conducts and manages casino gambling, and private service providers run the casinos. This guide uses "runs" for the operating company. No operating company for River Rock is named on record, so none is given here.

River Rock Casino Resort opened in Richmond on June 25, 2004. This guide has no earlier name for it on record. Great Canadian Entertainment owned it until the 2026 sale.

The River Rock sale followed other changes involving Petroglyph Development Group. Petroglyph closed its purchase of Casino Nanaimo and Elements Casino Victoria from Great Canadian on January 16, 2025. It took over Great Canadian Casino Vancouver in Coquitlam on May 5, 2026. On June 16, 2026, Petroglyph and Musqueam Capital Corp, as partners, became the owners of River Rock.

River Rock publishes table and poker hours, not hours for the whole casino. On Pacific time, poker and table play go from 10 AM to 4 AM, Monday through Thursday.
