The eight rooms by area
Four of the eight sit in Metro Vancouver. Cascades Casino Langley opened in May 2005 at 20393 Fraser Highway, beside the Langley Centre bus exchange. Starlight Casino New Westminster, at 350 Gifford Street, opened in 2007. Grand Villa Casino Burnaby, at 4331 Dominion St, followed in 2008. Cascades Casino Delta, at 6005 Highway 17A, opened on September 29, 2022.
The other four are in the Thompson-Okanagan. Cascades Casino Kamloops, at 1555 Versatile Drive, opened on August 19, 2015. Kamloops was one of four cities where Gateway bought a Lake City casino in August 2002.
Penticton, Kelowna and Vernon were the other three cities in that purchase. The Kelowna casino became Playtime Casino Kelowna on March 1, 2018; until then it had operated as Lake City Casino Kelowna. Lake City Casino Vernon kept its name and, in 2009, relocated into a building of 30,000 sq ft on Anderson Way. Cascades Casino Penticton opened on April 5, 2017, on city-leased land by the South Okanagan Events Centre.

The Thompson-Okanagan
Gateway describes itself as the exclusive casino operator in the Thompson Okanagan region. In this guide, all four casinos in that area are Gateway rooms, in Kamloops, Kelowna, Vernon and Penticton. The region runs from Princeton in the west to Golden and the Alberta border in the east, and south to Osoyoos. Kelowna and Kamloops are its largest cities.
On January 14, 2019, Gateway bought Chances Kamloops. That purchase made it the sole provider of gaming in Kamloops. Since Cascades Casino Kamloops opened, host payments to the City of Kamloops have totalled more than $43.3 million.
What did not move
Since January 2025, four casinos in this guide have passed to First Nations ownership. Casino Nanaimo and Elements Casino Victoria passed on January 16, 2025. Great Canadian Casino Vancouver followed on May 5, 2026, and River Rock Casino Resort on June 16, 2026. Sales of two more, Hastings Casino and Elements Casino Surrey, to First Nations have been agreed.
None of the eight casinos Gateway runs is among those six.
